Come and work deeply with your hips using a peak pose method of sequencing. Peak poses are more challenging poses that are used to guide the practice and can act as measurements of progress as well as motivators and goals.

This short series will focus on peak poses which require space and stability in the hips. Mobility and range of motion in the pelvis are important for optimal posture and all physical activities as well as deepening a physical yoga practice. This will not be a vigorous practice but may be challenging so some experience with yoga is probably beneficial, though keen beginners are welcome.

Meditation teaches us how to focus on the present moment and become aware of our chronic tendencies to fixate on the past and future – a habit that can bring on depression, anxiety and other challenging experiences. Meditation can help us let go and learn to better ride the inevitable waves of life.

Please join Dawn Collins in this 4-part meditation workshop and practicum. You will learn the fundamentals of meditation, do’s and don’ts, including strategies such as breath work to assist with a more successful meditation experience.

After learning the ins and outs of how to meditate, a practicum will follow where you can apply what you’ve learned with extended practice time in the safe and open environment that is Taiga.

YOGA TUNE UP® 3-PART WORKSHOP

TUESDAYS, OCTOBER 16, 23 & 30, 2018

Immerse yourself in the experience of your anatomy. These classes will use the Yoga Tune Up® method to help inform and explore your body’s limitations and range of motion.

Each of the 3 classes will focus on an area of the body: arms and shoulder, hips and legs, and spine and core. Dive into exercises meant to improve strength, range of motion and chronically weak areas of the body. Seek to address imbalances in your body which can cause pain, hinder physical performance and interfere with optimal posture. Each session will involve exercises for strength, exercises to increase mobility and flexibility and periods of myofacial massage to begin to release tightness in the body. No experience necessary.

It is possible to register for one of these three workshops at the cost of $35. Please come to the studio before class to register and pay the drop-in fee in person.
