Two-Part Meditation Practice

If you’ve been practicing meditation for a while now, you may be very familiar with the challenge it brings surrounding patience, self-compassion and earnest attempts to stay with it.   

It’s often healthy to break up our routines with a new experience.

If you are familiar with meditation and engage in a regular practice, be it solo or in a group, you are invited to come and experience our friendly, safe space here at Taiga for a 2 part Guided Meditation Series.

Each class will flow seamlessly between various styles of meditation.  There will be a soft, gentle voice to guide you.  At other times, we will engage in silence.   Aural meditation will be explored, exposing you to different long-lasting sounds to enable focus on the present moment.

Walking meditation will allow for movement between seated or kneeling positions. 

Chairs available upon request.

If you are looking to change up your environment, style or simply to share space with others while you practice, we’ll see you soon!

Yoga Teacher Training - 200 Hours

Taiga Yoga and Kate Covello present Yoga Alliance-certified Teacher Training. For 200 hours we will examine yoga history, the modern application of the practice and how you can effectively teach this exquisite practice.

The teacher training will run as two modules. Each is 10-days.
Module One: June 10 - June 20, 2019
Module Two: July 2 - July 12, 2019

Expect each day to be up to ten hours long, with a much shorter day on Sundays! The program will be intense and demanding, but I promise you'll gain insight into yourself and the practice that will serve you in all aspects of your life.

This series is suitable for beginners as well as those who have some experience with yoga but would like to spend some time exploring the basics. These classes will give participants a chance to understand the different poses most often encountered in yoga classes and how to execute them appropriately for their body. The series will cover how to do the poses as well as how to modify them as needed and will also cover other topics such as breath techniques, class etiquette, how to use the props and the difference between styles of yoga. PILATES 101 - 3 Weeks Series

Pilates 101 is for people who have no idea about Pilates or want to take things at a slower pace than the drop in class. In this session we will progressively learn the foundations of the Pilates method.

Pilates is a method of training strength in the body that focuses on breathing and precision of movement. Exercises are done to target specific muscle groups and bring awareness to the movements and how to execute them precisely. Focus will be particularly on muscles that support the core and proper posture.


The basic level exercises will be introduced progressively with precise instructions and time for questions and special attention to alignment. Each student will work within their own limits since the exercises are adaptable to all strength and experience levels. We will discuss basic anatomy and proper technique as we learn and do the exercises on which more difficult variations can be built.

This pilates series will focus on addressing weaknesses in the body which may be causing pain or limiting performance in your daily life. Exercises will be introduced slowly to build awareness and strength in the techniques and precise movements will be used to build stability in the back and core.

These classes will be built on the Body Harmonics method of pilates but other fitness modalities may be brought in. Using simple exercises from the pilates repertoire to foster awareness in the body, participants will slowly build strength throughout the series.

No pilates experience required as we will be starting with the basics!
