Backbends are a way to stretch and strengthen the spine. Many factors, including poor posture and frequent time spent hunched over a computer, can contribute to tension and pain in the spine. A regular practice of backbending can help mitigate pain and tension in the spine. 

 

In this two-hour workshop, we will:

  • discuss the benefits of backbends
  • warm up with a flowing yoga sequence
  • try some fun and challenging backbends, adapted to each student's ability level
